Spring Retirement Roadshow – Income, and retirement

One in three babies born today are expected to celebrate their 100th birthday, and as we know retirement can now last for 30 years or more. Advising clients in retirement today is about using multi-option solutions that are individually tailored to their requirements rather than just pension planning.

Our roadshow provides advisers with strategies to support their clients in generating the required level of income throughout retirement.

Past attendees have highlighted some great reasons to attend our Roadshow:

“Very good meeting, fund managers provided a good insight to the topics”

“Well done for once again organising a fantastic event – current topics covered by excellent speakers”

“Good presentations, good locations, right length of time”

*90% of previous attendees recommend our Roadshows for the perfect balance of structured quality content and valuable networking opportunities.

Presented by Frank Potaczek, Defaqto

Looking at the main options available to advisers to generate income for clients!

9.50-10.15

CRP - the key to successful, sustainable income planning?

Presented by Nathan Sweeney, Architas

Since the introduction of RDR back in 2012, the need for a robust centralised investment proposition (CIP) and the benefits of having one are widely recognised.  Great, if your clients are in the accumulation phase but how do you use a growth model for clients entering retirement and going into drawdown?  In this session, Architas will cover how in the new world where GAD rates are no more and the creation for sustainable income in retirement is in the hands of you and your client, CIPs need to be complemented with CRPs – centralised retirement propositions for successful, sustainable income generation in retirement.

10.15-10.40

Flexible income

Presented by Tony Yarrow, Wise Funds

How to get income from your portfolio in different markets

Tony will explore why flexible income is so important in your portfolio, and the relationship between a value approach and how it produces income growth

Factor Investing: Fashionably Stylish since 1998

Presented by James Klempster, Momentum

Client-centricity is back en vogue. In the wake of FCA announcements instructing better suitability and the rise of dynamic new market entrants, there’s an increasing demand that places the client`s needs ahead of other performance indicators. James will demonstrate how the core fundamentals of factor investing blend style and strategy to differentiate generic client focus from meaningful client returns.

11.35-12.00

An Active Approach to Passive Investment

Presented by Richard Bonnor-Moris
All investing is about maximising risk adjusted returns. This is more true in retirement than at any other stage.  Richard’s presentation is about using all tools available to  investors.  One tool Rivers think is not being used dynamically enough is the allocation between active and passive management styles.  This is not a debate on the merits of active or of passive it is, hopefully, a demonstration of why investors should use both. Dynamically managing that allocation will, we believe, improve risk adjusted returns.

12:00-12:25

Q and A Session

12.25-13.10

Lunch

13.10-13.40

The 5 steps to Suitable Natural Income Funds

Presented by Roger Perry, Defaqto

Defaqto will demonstrate a new process to:

  • Segment natural income strategies
  • Understand your clients sensitivity to income volatility
  • Research investments to meet the client’s requirements
