Our Business Analysts are involved in the full product lifecycle from project discovery and idea development, through requirements gathering and specification, to software testing and release. They take ownership for gaining stakeholder agreement to the scope of each project, and then ensuring on time and in budget delivery. They have the satisfaction of contributing to and influencing the development of tools and applications utilised by some of the biggest names in the UK financial services industry, including our market leading Defaqto Engage software for financial advisers.
We’re now seeking a talented BA Team Leader to manage, develop and lead our team of four experienced Business Analysts, whilst also delivering high levels of performance on their own projects.
As a Business Analyst, you’ll:
- take the concepts agreed by our product steering group;
- identify, analyse and document the detailed requirements; and
- work collaboratively with our development team to ensure the delivery of robust software to meet business and customer needs,
- all within an agile development environment.
As the Team Leader, you’ll have responsibility for:
- ensuring high levels of performance and capability across the whole team;
- promoting great communication and collaboration;
- championing quality, consistency and efficiency;
- ensuring processes and ways of working are optimised; and
- monitoring projects against plan and budget, escalating project delivery risks as necessary.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record as a successful Business Analyst within a web software development environment – ideally with experience of a variety of different approaches, processes and practices. In particular, you’ll need to demonstrate user interface design/user experience skills, working with a UX Designer to create wireframes to help solidify the application workflow and design key user interactions. You’ll also need to have experience creating user stories with testable acceptance criteria to help deliver right-first-time functional enhancements.
You’ll need a strongly collaborative approach – seeking and listening to the ideas of others, building consensus, identifying and trialling new ways of working, and evaluating outcomes. You must also be able to set clear expectations, hold people accountable, provide effective feedback and coach team members to continuously improve their skills and performance.
Previous people management experience is highly desirable but not essential. We can provide training to help you develop your skills in this area. However, you’ll need to clearly demonstrate skills related to leading, co-ordinating, training and overseeing the work of others (even if not in a work context).
Any experience within the Financial Services industry would be very useful, but if not then you'll definitely need the interest and willingness to develop in depth knowledge of the industry.
In return, we can offer an exciting and challenging role, at a key point in Defaqto’s growth. The salary for this role is £48-55k, dependent upon the skills, knowledge and experience you can bring to the role. You’ll also benefit from all the great things about working for Defaqto.
Please be aware that we cannot offer sponsorship - you must already have the right to work in the UK to apply for a vacancy at Defaqto.
